Free Changes for NYC through Nov 7th

Email from Delta.

Dear Teamstone,

Our thoughts and sympathies continue to be with everyone affected by Hurricane Sandy. This includes our 7,000 employees in New York and New Jersey and our customers who count on us for their travel needs.

Please know that air travel in the northeastern United States has mostly returned to normal, and we expect to operate a full schedule of flights beginning today at New York-LGA, New York-JFK and Newark-EWR.

However, you should check your flight status frequently for up-to-the-minute information or get updates sent directly to your wireless device or email with Delta Messenger.

You may make a one-time change to your ticket without a fee if you are scheduled to travel to, from or through LGA, JFK or EWR from now until Wednesday, November 7th. You can edit your itinerary at delta.com, or you may contact Reservation Sales.

As always, our first priority is the safety of our customers and employees. Plus, we will do everything we can to assist in relief efforts, such as our recent $100,000 donation through the Delta Air Lines Foundation to the American Red Cross, and you also can donate money or miles to help.

Thank you for your patience and support, and please visit delta.com for the latest information.

When did you get this email? My cousin and his fiance were supposed to fly to NYC this weekend and they hit both of them with change fees.

Um, when did they reschedule? If they did before the waiver was extended that could be why... last update was on Oct 31 3:30pm
The waiver is on DL's website

Catch is rebooked travel must begin by Nov 9 or you might have to pay a higher fare. The change fee is waived in all cases however. They need to call up and complain and get that money back.

About 2hours ago. They should call in and get a refund.

They should NOT be hit with a change fee however, only the difference in fare pricing. I'd ask and make sure that is the case and they didn't get dinged an extra 150 per person.
