DL miles with AS codeshare with AA?
 

Hi all,

Somewhat convoluted question but probably a very easy answer for FT :D

I have a AS gift cert that I want to use to go from LAX-JFK. On AS's website, the cheapest flight is a codeshare on AA. I have lots of DL miles and would like to register my miles with DL's program (and not AS's), since DL partners with AS.

Is this possible?

As AA is the airline operating the flight, you cannot earn DL SkyMiles.

I am not certain the last post is accurate. In the last 30 days I booked a flight on the AS website and entered my DL number. The flight was a code share on American Eagle. The boarding pass indicated the ticketing was done by AS and had my DL number.....I also got DL credit for the flight, 500 miles, for the hop from LAX to SBA.
