Mileage redeposit as Gold vs. Platinum

Hi there. Planning some award travel next year. I'm currently a GM, but will be a PM in about a month. If I book award travel now as a GM, will I be able to redeposit (reprice, more likely) after I'm Platinum without losing any miles or paying a change fee?

Or does it only matter what your status is at time of initial booking?

You will be able to redeposit. Similarly, if you book an award as a PM and then drop to a lower level you lose the fee waiver.

What matters is your current status at the time you attempt to make changes.
