75A J Config.
 

So I'm planning on doing ATL-NRT-SPN-NRT-ATL in January in J and the NRT-SPN-NRT portion is on a 75A. The seat map shows 24J 150Y, but gives no information on the seat pitch, width, etc, unlike other a/c types. I always thought the 75A had 16J recliner seats like the 75E, but I guess that's wrong.

When I try to bring up the seat map on delta.dumb when making a reservation it says it's not available. Further, it shows the sleeper seat symbol under the amenities.

So are these really recliners like on the 75E or are they just domestic F seats?

Any pictures or descriptions to give me an idea of what to expect are greatly appreciated.

The former NW 757 flying across the Atlantic are being moved to the Pacific; these aircraft featured a modified version of the former WBC. It appears DL's adding a pair of rows to these aircraft, so I'm uncertain as to how it would affect the product. In any event, it should be a significant upgrade over standard domestic F (which is more-or-less what was previously used on these flights) and a decent ride for a relatively short flight.

I tried a dummy booking and was able to get a seatmap. Based on the seatmap and number of rows in F and Y, it looks like a standard domestic F config. They used to run the 757 with recliners and extra legroom but think they were converted when EC was put in.

If you had a 75J with 20J seats then that has some extra pitch.

Yeah, the 75A was reconfigured to have standard domestic F earlier this year.

I also recall a thread where we were discussing why DL doesn't provide medallion upgrades on these birds out of NRT. Back then the seats had more legroom and the old school recliners.
Now it is certainly not BE... you get the same seat and legroom as on a domestic flight. I wonder if they even provide any of the BE amenities or food?

Looks like this config is used on most of the 'shorter' flights out of NRT, although at 3-4hrs SPN and GUM are not exactly short.

It is a disappointment getting stuck on a domestic F configured plane to get to your destination after sitting in BE for 12hrs+

Did those planes got updated?

Posts suggest domestic like first class. However, seatguru indicate recliners:

Nope, standard F. Used to have a little more legroom and old recliners. Now its just standard 36" domestic pitch.

I'm sure people coming the other direction feel the same way upon hitting a DL hub.

But it could be worse... like European airlines that just block off a middle seat and call the window and aisle "Business Class".

The 75A's, in their previous 16 seat configuration, used to have 60" of pitch. I'd call that quite a bit more than "a little more legroom".

I meant the equip they used to use had a little more... they've gone through a few downgrades of F config on these intra-asia flights. First, used to have the ex-NWA config with 16F, old manual recliners and lots of legroom... then went to a domestic F type seat but with ~40" pitch and I think footrests, now just a normal domestic F all around.

Would be great if seatguru but more importantly, delta.com would update their information. Very misleading to read "sleeper seat"" stretch out in a generously-reclining seat".

Is there any IFE in the seat back?

No in-seat IFE on the 75A, only overhead monitors.
