Schedule change, flight now doesn't have first class
My parent bought business class tickets that routes back ARN-AMS-DTW-CVG. The flight from DTW-CVG was originally a CR9, now it is a CR2. Are they entitled to compensation or a flight change because a leg they bought in first (as part of the business class ticket) is no longer in first?
I doubt they will do anything to change it as DTW-CVG is a really short flight. I'm just curious what they could do if they wanted to.

In reality, not much. A business fare ARN-CVG may well be cheaper than a business fare ARN-DTW + coach DTW-CVG. If it involved a change in carrier (mainline Delta changed to a Delta Connection carrier), U.S. DOT rules would allow them to get a refund.

In most situations I have seen like this, DL will let you change to a flight that has two cabins without a charge if you have paid for F/J. Not sure what the CoC entitles you to contractually, but in most cases I have seen this permitted anyway. (After all... Donald Sutherland said something about common sense...)
