So again, the rule with Skymiles is "if at first you don't succeed, hang up and redial!"
That is just wrong and should be reported to Delta. I am surprised the agent was able to do this so easily without triggering some sort of alert or needing a supervisor override. Looks like the OP messed up by not taking the call from AF and I don't see any reason why Delta should hand out free BE tickets.

Thats great! I agree... Keep calling. However, I just don't deal with air france anymore. They are the biggest pain. I usual try and talk to a delta rep. I have had much more luck with them.

Just to clarify: I did not "Not take the call"... I honestly missed it because I do have a life besides waiting by my phone. The issue was that Air France didn't bother to notate my record so 7 different people in four different departments had no reason why I had been contacted. Also, the person who did upgrade me WAS a supervisor, and the 8th person I talked to. Nothing wrong, just a customer service debacle on the part of AF that Delta solved to my benefit as a Medallion member.

The cost of the upgrade was worth every dime....first class on A380 was fantastic, very comfortable, great service and food. Connection in CDG from arrival gate to First Class lounge via private car, massage in lounge, relaxation stations for a couple hour nap, then private car transfer onto our connecting flight. Would do it again in a minute...hope I'm given the option again.

So you didn't need to take the bus or wander the corridors to the security check/passport line? That in itself is worth the E1300 ! Seriously, this sounds fun. Was the flight full in Affaires? I've flown Affaires in the 3-class plane (paid J on I-bucket fare) and La Premiere was practically empty - I think one person boarded, but never got the offer to buy-up.

Escorted by agent from seat to private car to First Class lounge (not normal bus. class lounge), through private security screening, even allowed bottle of champagne "gift" from flight attendant. Affaires may have been full, but not certain. 9 seats in la premiere, 4 passengers, and three flight attendants to take care of us! Truly a fantastic experience!
