...and by brief, I do not mean underwear.

Please use the format below for consistency purposes. Date and chronological order might be helpful as well. Thank you.

Trashed Airplane Garbage and trash filled the seats of an Airbus A332 aircraft after the conclusion of a Philadelphia Eagles charter flight from Seattle to Philadelphia last year. Photograph posted by FlyerTalk member tod701 on December 12, 2013.

I mean, I don't put my mouth anywhere close to the bulkhead, but we all agree that feet on a bulkhead is gross? Yes, the tray is there but I don't believe the trays are solid on the bottom. Even if the glass doesn't come directly in contact with the floor, it certainly doesn't look good.

That puts the bottom of shoes/feet directly in contact with the bulkhead though, and is also about social norms (that granted everyone doesn't necessarily agree with, but...)

Fair point, if the bottom of the tray is an open grid (like a drying rack or something) then I'd reconsider. If it's completely solid like a cafeteria or fast food restaurant tray then I have no issue with it.

I agree it looks weird either way, but in the latter case I don't think it's actually gross or anything.

To me this looks like a violation of 4-903.11 of the FDA Food Code.

No we don't all agree feet on a bulkhead is gross. A simple look through this thread will disprove that statement. This thread reads more as a foot fetish forum then anything. I've suggested it before, put a paywall up and charge for access to this thread.

I do get why some have an issue. However the way I look at it, your mouth and hands aren't going on the wall.

His legs probably cramped up since he is sitting in the awful 739 bulkhead seats.

Not the best wording, but that's why I had a question mark at the end of my sentence. I generally find the feet on bulkhead shaming to be a bit overblown. It's more the feet on armrests, tray tables, lounge furniture etc... that I think is a problem.

This is essentially what I was thinking when I saw it and when I posted the photo here. I'm not a health inspector and I haven't worked in a kitchen since a part time job in high school, but I figured there had to be some sort of regulation about this kind of stuff.

I'm not a health inspector either. I'm a quality systems auditor that mostly audits aerospace and automotive manufacturing. Around 10 years ago I also got into medical device and food production for a while, but have since dropped them.

ATL B SC today

I try to have a live and let live, if it's not bothering you don't worry about it, attitude towards other passengers but this baffled me. I don't understand how that could be comfortable and lying on the floor in the middle of the lounge is strange behavior.

That AND dirty shoes resting where conventionally people's clean clothes would be. I mean just discourteous to the next person using that chair.

I had a boss who had chronic back issues and would often spent part of the day working on his laptop while lying down on the couch. I forget if he ever laid down on the floor during a meeting.

That's different from in the middle of a SC with your feet up on the chair though.

Plus he appears to be wearing a plastic bin liner?

This is as close approximation of the “90 90 position” as you can probably get in that space. The position is often recommended for low back pain. While I wouldn’t lie down on a filthy public carpet and I wouldn’t put my feet up on anyone's furniture, I have lain on my own carpet and put my feet up on a chair in just this position for just that reason.
