Sitting in First class...

And apparently the new thing to do pre-departure now is to leisurely paint your nails. Is this a joke?!?!?!?

I have seen this in coach and first before. The smell can kill you. Isnt something like this prohibited? Just wondering.

See that's what I thought... I was wondering what the strange smell was when I sat down and began reading and looked up and found its source... FAs did not say anything though...

I am so dissapointed I missed the photo opportunity, but I saw something I have never seen last week. Ended up in 1D on a MD-88, next to that guy that took his shoes off and put his socks on the wall. This drives me nuts, but oh well.

Then I watch this guy stand up, go to the bathroom, come back, sit down and put his socks back up on the wall. Who in their right mind uses an airplane bathroom in their socks?

I proceeded to ask him to take his urine soaked socks off the wall and put them back into his shoes. Lady in 1B clapped, it was a nice moment.

The other day - - happened way too fast to get a pic - - a guy sitting caddy-corner from me (in F) was reading the Sky Mag. Suddenly, he pulls it close to his face - does a loud, hard cough into the fold of the magazine, then simply holds it back at a distance again, to continue reading.

I've seen people go to the airplane bathroom in their socks before. I thought they were nuts. Fortunately they didn't put them up on the wall or on a seat afterwards though. Yuck.

had a woman in 10E on a 767 put her feet on bulkhead wall practically the entire way to LAS from ATL last week. she had ugly feet, too. when we landed, the overhead popped open above 10F/G and she gets out of her seat about three seconds after landing to close it and sit back down. 30 y/o girl in 10F looked at her like she was an idiot.

Most nail polish contains Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) which are easily combustible and I believe are prohibited on all flights for safety reasons. Every time a PAX breaks nail polish out on flights I'm on the FAs are on them fairly quickly to stop.

I didnt get a picture of it but someone forgot to flush their toilet (#2) on MEM-SLC yesterday. It was fun to be the guy walking into the bathroom right after to find that (plus the smell)

I would have summoned the FA and complained about the odor. Especially if this person had used nail polish remover first which I have a strong reaction to and makes my eyes tear.

From boarding until now...
Dear mr. 1C,
Glad you had great time in Vegas, glad you partied so much you are hardly awake, yet...
First class requires minimum class

PS- when the FA tells you to put your legs down, she means it. Seriously. Rules apply to you too.

Great job - it reminds me I must always NOT sit in bulkhead seats.

This occurred last night on an A319 flight. I was in row 3 - last row in first and was reading the New York Times. I suddenly felt that something was pushing my arm. Then I turned around and saw this...

As we all know there is no real cabin divider on these ex-NWA's A319s. The passenger in the bulkhead row in Y decided to rest his feet in the armrest. I was about to say something but could not resist on taking a picture of it. As I was about to turn my head around, s/he remove the offended object.

That's far worse than putting them on the wall. I've mentioned before, when that happened to me a quick sharp rap with a heafty paperback to the offending feet solved the problem, and as a bonus we were rewarded with a shriek from the row behind. Next time it will be an ice-cube or two carefully placed on their fetid tootsies.

(edit: oh, I see that they weren't bare feet - I'd need to think of a different solution. Open to ideas, anyone?)
