4/21 DTW-ATL on 777

I was on the morning flight from DTW-ATL on a 777 metal and All medallions were upgraded to BE. The lie-flat seats were a surprise to many. I hope they continue using the 777 more often.

Yes, those are certainly nice. I believe that this is a repo flight - coming into DTW from Asia, then going from ATL to either Asia or Dubai.

This used to a few times a week, if not more. I've flown the 777 roughly 20 times between DTW-ATL and ATL-DTW.

Always an excellent upgrade, even if its a short flight. Congrats!

I've done it in the opposite direction, ATL-DTW, and in some sense it was weird in that I was accustomed to this aircraft having all of the BE amenities. It was still nice to stretch out on the flat bed, enjoying the IFE and a glass of domestic FC wine. Strange experience, but still better than any other aircraft I have had on DL domestic.

This has been ongoing for years now...love that flight (they it's not an equipment sub-it's a repositioning flight and are loaded in the schedule as a 777

I've been on many 767 repo flights, but I've never on the 777.

I had the good fortune of being upgraded on a 777LR repo flight from DTW-LAX about a year ago. Really nice experience.

Is there an east way to search for this?

The 777 right now is not a scheduled aircraft for repositioning between DTW-ATL, however, it still shows up occasionally. There is a BE 767 that flies in both directions a few times a week.

This Wednesday, the DTW-ATL route has a BE 767 and a A330 scheduled.

In this case, this appears to have been an unscheduled repositioning flight, so it wouldn't have been easily searchable. However, the on-line time schedule shows that flights 1046 and 748 between DTW and ATL have been a scheduled A330-200 for the last couple weeks on Wednesday and Thursday. Unfortunately, this will be the last week for the A330-200 on these flights.
