EC now installed on CRj900

Caught a ride on a Expressjet 900 the other day, aircraft now has 3 rows of EC. I did notice more leg room in rows 5-6-7, not tons but enough to make a difference. FA told me reconfig on the 700s start this week.

Can't even tell there is a difference. Couldn't replace the cushions either?

I would estimate I saw at least 2" of additional leg room. I can't answer on the seat cushions. But it's going to make any trip on a 900 more comfortable when you don't get an UG. I'm anxious to see the 700 reconfigured.

I think the only reason the 200s weren't updated is that their days are (finitely) numbered! :D

Where do they typically use the CRJ900, I've only seen it listed for ATL - BZE.

ATL-OKC-ATL only gets one a day (I just came off one) now as we are stuck with more of the RJ7s but do get one MD88 a day.

I see them all over in ATL, JFK, ORD, and MEM. Seems they fly off-peak routes that normally use an MD.

Bring on the 900s over the MDs anytime!

I'm flying JFK-CVG on one this Tuesday.

So the CR9/CR7/CRJ experience has now gone from painful to slightly less than painful?

I like 1A on the RJ 9 better than 2B on the MD88: great seat, Wifi, etc. I don't like the RJ7 as much and refuse to route international trips through MSP because of those tiny CRJ200s with no FC. In other words, they should not be grouped together.

And people pay extra for THAT comfort? Wow, that's barely noticable...what does EC cost? Frankly, I'm more concerned with width, than depth-I can always stick my feet under the seat in front of me, especially with the CRJ's where you have to gate check anything larger than a package of Biscoff cookies.

Either that, or DL figured that if they can't make money with 50 pax on board, they certainly couldn't with 46 after the row of seats is removed to make room for EC. Pitch on those CR2's is inhumane as-is; I couldn't see them making it any smaller.

So is EC better or last exit row better would you say on a 700/900 for max leg room? Thanks for this very much!
