And Deltamatic IS from the 70's., about time they junk it.

FBATR is nothing other than rumours that flowed around here. There was evidence that DL could be making some changes to the SM program, but nothing that supported FBATR.

Furthemore FBATR could easily be implemented on top of Deltamartic, just as Pay with Miles if. So the 2nd and 3rd posts of this thread are extreme speculation.

Is Deltamatic a real word, or is it a fond reference to Delta IT like delta.dumb is to delta.com?

They're replacing their Sinclair ZX81 with a TRS-80.

Programs: Now just a lowly DL PM/1MM. This industry needs some competition. It's just not enjoyable anymore.

Oh, it's real. It's the name given to DL's first gen computerized reservation system, circa 1960s or thereabouts...

Anybody else worried that this changeover may be a bit buggy?

My first computer was a ZX Spectrum
I remember one day having it run a Mandelbrot fractal calculation. It took the whole day and the thing was hot like an Arizona desert in summer. But it got it done

I am not old but I did work on a Trash 80 BITD. As for the Deltamatic system I doubt the original hardware exists but I bet if I went digging around some of the original code probably does.

As for the speculation of a replacement* - I will believe it when I see it.

*Note I said replacement and not upgrade. Upgrade implies it will be better which is not always the case.

Hi, I am working on a brand new ERP system, and simple 'digging' finds a lot of 1960's cobol code in, and I am even talking pre ANSI code.
(PS- no, not old, but as a child I did have the opprotunity of playing with a spectrum a neighbor owned. Oh, the noise...

A bit buggy? I think that goes in as understatement of the century. I suspect that this will make the UA/CO integration look flawless.

1. No question this needs to be done.
2. It makes me nervous as hell.
