Rather than waste time posting on here about what you will do IF this happens, why don't you e-mail Jeff with your frequent flyer number and tell him what you will do if this happens? If you are high value, it will probably stand out. If you aren't, oh well.

I will tell you what I will do.
Nothing.
If it comes to AA, then there will be issues.

If you ARE high value, why would you care about the changes? If you AREN'T high value, why would Delta care what you think?

If you are Delta, however, why would you not schedule a press conference at some point in the near future if you ARE planning to announce an upcoming change, or deny the rumors if they are unfounded and upsetting your customers?

It's coming up on google, people are blogging and tweeting about it... Do you want to be ahead of the rumor mill or rolled over by it?

I have PMd with many that are high value. If their reports are true, they are VERY high value. They care very much what happens with Skymiles. I care very much what happens with Skymiles. I personally would love to see some of the rumored changes. There is nothing elite about elite anymore.

Yeah... other than free bags, priority boarding, F domestic, MQM bonus, SC access, etc.

Delta will be discontinuing the entire program...

And as soon as they have the guts to do this AA, UA/CO etc will all follow suit.

Massive whining will occur, but since they all "stick" together they won't lose any money.

(Makes just as much sense as having 62 pages of "my account is more important then your account" with other 'no basis' statements thrown in periodically )

Free bags = yes
priority boarding = with 1/2 of the aircraft that is "elite", how much priority do you actually get?
F domestic = read the complaint threads about lack of upgrades (and look at the travesty that passes as F domestically)
MQM bonus = YBM...yes....everyone, everyone including general member gets that.
SC Access = another "elite" experience full of screaming children, shouting-in-their-cellphone DYKWIA, and people enthralled with the fine finishes like Skyy Vodka while you search for an open seat

...edited to add....etc.

At this point it is quite possibly having an impact on their business, albeit a small one. By not addressing this thread, which has had FIFTY THOUSAND views in just over 4 days, it sounds like the rumor is well-founded. Perhaps there is no response because the changes will be worse than has been speculated here. Even if this is Delta's typical MO, it is an unwise strategy at this point in time.

Clearly ignoring this thread isn't making it go away. Delta, your customers would like answers and they are currently getting their information HERE. Your silence is being taken as an admission of guilt, like it or not.
When I started this thread I had no idea it would get the huge view/response it has had.

Two interesting notes, not sure if it'd been mentioned, but even The Points Guy has blogged about this thread and is polling readers. When I lasted checked more 1100 people hated the idea of the rumored program and fewer than 90 liked it.

Second note, I just got off a flt from FLL-ATL. I was in F sitting next to a diamond who was a 2MM with Delta. When I asked if he had heard of this change rumor he said no, when I told him what it was he was ready to get right off the plane. He told me he travels about 150k miles a year for business, mainly on LUT fares. How many business people do the same thing? Is DL going to tell those people too bad, spend more money and we'll let you keep your status?

We shall see, but it sounds like there will be some sort of revolt when this goes through. Will Delta listen? Hopefully, but who knows.

What I care about more in some cases is power.
(In airports that don't give power)

You get to beta test the new program first, starting at midnight tonight!

(oh, and you don't get to provide Delta feedback unless it is positive... Glad I didn't win!)

Delta engages with many FTers and actively looks to get feedback from its top customers. It's more likely that they will be contacting the DMs that have been getting Porsche rides in ATL than the LUT, MRing or CC earned DM. I can honestly say that I feel that delta does an excellent job reaching out to its highest revenue customers and corporate accounts. I know several colleagues that have been invited to focus groups and have a rep on speed dial. Right now the way the program is set up they (250k miles/yr + $100k+++ spend) are not rewarded anymore than the 125k $5k spend DM. The rumored changes would address this issue. I'm sure the Skymiles program and medallion program will change and reward the highest value customers and from what I've heard I think there will be a new tier added to compete with UA GS but be even better.

People can whine all they want but why wouldn't a business want to reward its most loyal and highest revenue customers? It's no different than a manufacturer giving better pricing to someone who buys 3 million of its product than someone who buys 1,000 of its product. And it's no different than the VIP services given to high spenders at casinos vs the services given to a $5 a hand blackjack players.

I think FTers sometimes forget that DL is a business and fail to see the big picture. I can't really complain if I don't get upgraded when I paid $500 for my ticket on a 737-800 but 10 people bought P fares for $1000 and 2 people used miles and 4 DMs paid more than me. Who should I think doesn't belong in F in that scenario? I can be disappointed I didn't get the UG but how can I really complain? I had the opportunity to buy the FC ticket, I didn't...I had the opportunity to buy a mileage ticket, I didn't....I had the opportunity to buy a higher fare class, I didn't....doesn't really seem like I can have much beef with delta unless they upgraded someone they shouldn't have in front of me.
