Which, in the past, has been a clear indicatior that the hand writing is on the wall.

I am just wondering what and HVC is - I am a 20-25k DM and figure that I am likely on the bubble for DL.

If revenue were such an important factor, why not just ignore the tiers as far as upgrades go? Make all upgrades happen at the gate, and simply go down the list by fare paid. DM, PM, non-member, it wouldn't matter. Keep the tiers for the other benefits.

Actually, I think this statement ("declined to comment") effectively confirmed that the changes are in the works and will be introduced soon. But we all knew that already anyway, just a question of when.

Based on Ham Sandwich Ecnomics, even if I fly for free, am I not creating revenue for Delta based on my potential to purchase a snack basket, buy a goofy looking Lincoln SUV and stay at a crappy Fairfield Inn? Perhaps HVCs like to stay in Hotels with beds taken from frat houses and have the worn springs and DNA to prove it?

QUOTE "He declined comment on another rumor – that the Delta SkyMiles frequent flier program soon will begin awarding miles based on how much you paid for the ticket, not how many miles you have flown. "

That is definitely a "pointer" IMHO

Um no...I read that to mean there definitely IS a change coming. "decline comment" = "Yes".

I just have a bunch of trips coming up in the next few months and need to know what airline to book them on.

I didn't invent this date. It's on one of the first two pages from a supposed official Delta document.

Along with the word "Target". I see "Target" FCS's come and go all the time. Nailing a date far in advance is a tough and fruitless thing to do. It will be ready when it is ready but all indicators are this year not next.
