Used to be a regular shuttle but is gone as of this week. What gives?

USAirways still has a shuttle, maybe they couldn't compete..

Delta is slowly vacating DCA. It's been in progress for over a year.

Amazing! Another direct flight gone, I have top tier status with Delta but whats the point!! From Boston they fly No where direct anymore.. I am better off with Jetblue or even AA at this point, at least they have direct flights to some Major cities.

Yep, this was all about the slot swaps. To take over NY, DL threw WAS under the bus. Sad for many, including me, but for whatever reason, DCA was not part of DL's big picture.

It's a bummer for elites in the abandoned cities, but I totally understand the business move.

BTW curious if anyone will fly DCA-LGA-BOS just for the miles vs. doing ua...

And that's a decision for you, the traveler, to make. It's entirely your decision.

DL doesn't stay in a market just because it has several "top tier" fliers there.

I assume that DL did not have the government contract on this route or they would have kept the nonstop service.

Not to let facts get in the way of comparing DL and AA, but DL serves almost 3x as many destinations from Boston.

And that's great, but it would really be nice to do so without a connection once in awhile.

I should have been more clear: DL serves 3x as many destinations with non-stop flights.
