Flex First: First on first off?
So i was just booking a first class r/t ticket MSP-LAX this weekend, and i got a F fare going out and a P returning. Then i saw something interesting. On the purchase confirmation page where it usually pushes the upgrade to first option, it shows "add flexibility to first class!" Which pushes upgrading to a fully flexible ticket, it lists the benefits:
No fees when travel plans change, Attentive service, luxurious surroundings, First on, first off. While i understand the no fee part.....does service really get better on a fully flexible ticket? do you really board any sooner then any of the other FC pax, do i now get my own line to stand in so i dont have to be with the other gate lice?? :P |
"Luxurious" surroundings! LOL....they must not mean the 757s.
I think "first on, first off" is just a summary of the FC benefits...nothing special for being full-fare. PS I love the upgrade to First option that shows a picture of food...considering the flights I'm about to book each are less than 1.5 hours so it will be a snack basket. This will really fool the non-experienced First flyers... |
Yes, the captain personally leads you down the ramp at the same time the FAs board and you're assigned 2 FOs to carry your, undoubtedly over limit, number of carry ons (likely which are tagged crew) to fill up the rapidly shrinking overhead bin space before anyone else has a chance to board!

At least the refundability is a potential benefit. I've been offered a pay up to FC A or P fare for a CRJ 200 flight with no FC cabin.
