As an FO, this removes the bonus that was had by selecting Exit Row (Zone 1 vs Zone 2), but now there is no penalty for choosing bulkhead seating - I'm gonna be Zone 1 no matter what I do.

So now I'm stuck with all the other cardholders in Zone 1

So for all intensive purposes, we now have Zones -1, 0, 1, 2 and 3?

Maybe if we have some more marketing BS, everyone can board in Zone 1 or earlier.

LOL... as in:

"I didn't sit at C.E. Woolman's desk... but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express."

Checked in on iPhone app for RDU-ATL flight tonight (on Gogo right now) and the Zone was missing. It showed "Zone" on the electronic BP, but nothing below it. Turns out, this is a glitch they saw a few times today. The GA printed a BP that did say "Sky."

BUT, there seemed to be an unusually high number of gate lice who must have thought they were in higher boarding groups with the new labels.

+1

On Android "Fly Delta" BP, Zone is blank for a flight tomorrow morning. Checked in this morning. Mentioning this to make clear this issue is not just the iPhone version.

The text version electronic boarding pass said "SKY" today. I didn't check-in via the app, I did online for my coupon and had it email me the pass. Of course, I'm *stuck* in transcon business so I don't need the coupon. The horror!

It went into effect today, one would expect the mobile app would be synched...OK maybe not.

Personally, I think it will be fraught with peril during the actual boarding process for a while until people get used to it.

This is what AA did boarding for a long time: First, then Business (if applicable), then EXP/PLT/corresponding oneworld elites in coach (sometimes separated into subgroups), then PriorityAAccess (which includes all elites and Y fares), then zone 1-6. It makes for a mess; kettles in zone 1 think they'll board first, so they (perfectly reasonably) congregate by the jetbridge door. AA relatively recently simplified this a bit.

I don't understand why Delta has (apparently) gone away from their more clear setup.

Then they'll be embarrassed when they have to stand in the penalty box & not be able to board.

Perhaps a prelude to selling bundled SkyPriority benefits?

Makes me sad that I even followed the thread(s) to know that reference. But I hope now that AMEX holders w no Medallion status are in Zone 1, which is really Zone 3, he/she will be happy with their 'priority' status.
