Do first class folks get skyclub access?

First class US-Canada does have SC access. I confirmed yesterday, in SEA SC. She said any first class ticket even an upgrade gets admittance. I escorted my parents to the airport (I was flying SEA-MKE). They had SEA-YYJ (Victoria) in paid first, no status (its a short 50 min flight). They had complementary access, no issues. Both the SkyPriority ticket counter agent mentioned to go the club and once in the club I clarified with them. And I got in with my SC membership.

Delta is not an insignificant cross-border player in the US-Canada market, flying to 11 Canadian cities (Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Sault Ste. Marie, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Halifax). So, suddenly stripping Canadian first class flyers of Sky Club access (with no communication or notice) would seem to be a major change to policy. And, presumably if the "Delta One" language is being strictly enforced, this would also affect Mexico, Central America and some South American destinations as well... Since I got nowhere with the lounge agent and the @Delta twitter customer service, I've filed an official complaint through their online form.

It should be pretty clear at this point that the twitter folks and frontline call center agents don't have a lot background knowledge on this and are likely just making stuff up on the fly as they read the same stuff you are reading off the website. This is not the first time we've seen examples of this. This really needs to go up a few levels before you can expect to get a definitive answer.

Isn't this all coded into the computer systems anyway? I thought that the SC agents just scan your BP, and it either comes up as "Yes, let them in" or "No, ask for a CC or day pass. One would think that if this change was actually intended, someone would have had a task to recode whatever system the SC agents use to deliver the "No" message for FC USA<>CAN flights with no other means of access.
Though, that wouldn't explain why some agents are letting people in with no problems, and other are denying folks like OP.

Just to follow up, I received a reply from Delta customer service regarding Sky Club access for paid First Class seats to/from Canada. Short answer: they're sticking to the line that only Delta One gets access on international flights and this was a change made in the last year. See quote from their e-mail response:
"I can certainly understand why you would want to reach out to us about the Sky Club access. There have been some changes with the access. Same day travel on a Delta One international flight or on a domestic flight does allow access into the Sky Club, this does not include first class on Delta operated flights. This was one of the changes in the last year. I am sorry for the confusion and frustration with this issue."

The statement above states “This was one of the changes in the last year”. Does that mean Jan 1 this changed?

Many years since we've flown with Delta, but in a few weeks we are flying Delta One and First Class LHR - ATL -FLL and return later AUS - ATL - LHR. First trip involves a layover of approx 3 hours at ATL. Assuming we clear customs and immigration at ATL, would we be able to visit a Sky Club lounge there and if so, which one, presumably one in domestic terminal if we have time? On our return First Class flight from AUS, could we visit the lounge there and again at ATL before the transatlantic flight? If we are admitted to the lounges, do they serve complimentary alcohol or is payment required?

You'll have access to any of the Skyclubs in Atlanta ( The one in the international terminal is the best IMO ) as well as any Skyclub ( If there is one) on arrival if you wish. At least that' s my experience. You'll also have access to the club in Austin. What matters is that you have a same-day connection to or from a Delta One flight. On your way home, check and see if there is an arrivals lounge for Delta One at LHR ( It might me operated by VS) as you' ll have access to that one too. Safe travels!

LHR and CDG have arrivals lounges. I think these are the only ones, although sometimes PP lounges can be used as arrival lounges if they're landside. KLM seems to no longer permit DL passengers to use their lounges upon arrival at AMS if there's no onward connection.

I'm flying SEA-YVR today in First Class (Z) on DELTA 4523*. I asked at the check-in counter and was told I would not be accepted in the Sky Club.
Still, I tried, went to the club, scanned my boarding pass, and was immediately welcomed inside.
So I asked, and they confirmed: when flying Delta, only Delta One will be let in.
The reason I got in is because I'm also Flying Blue Platinum, which counts as "SkyTeam flying International" in this case.
It seems a little unfair that Delta frequent flyers have less privileges than pretty much everyone else (SkyTeam Elite, Amex holders, etc.) but in this case I'll take it.
