The rude elderly couple then made no hurry deplaning, stopping to have a chat with the captain and then completely blocking the boarding door while the husband talked to the wheelchair assists trying to decide which of the two his wife should get. Once past the elderly couple the first of the two maybe-together PAX took as long as a wheelchair would have to get up the jetway.

all these posts with similar experiences make me feel better...I'm not alone in the "i'm young so i get treated poorly sometimes" club.
My wife and I were flying LAX-SYD on D1 tickets. Best experience on Delta. Not one person treated us like we didn't belong. I can't figure out the rhyme or reason between when I get treated poorly and when I don't.
Anyway...I'm getting off topic here.
Got back from a MR yesterday...only had a couple tiny DYKWIA moments. Basically just a couple PM's boarding during the PREM zone even though they were in the back with the rest of the cattle because the "flight was delayed" even though it wasn't (well, yet...thats a different story)

If you're going to fake being in a hurry, at least wait until you're out of the jet bridge to take your bow.

Multiply that by 100 and you've got every flight I've ever been on into SRQ. Seems like half the passengers need wheelchairs to board, but make a miraculous recovery mid-flight, pushing and shoving their way to the front of the plane on arrival and then very slowly make their way up the jetway. On my last flight into SRQ in early November, there were at least 35 chairs lined up for early boarding. The gate agent made an announcement "reminding" them that they were "required" to remain on-board upon arrival in SRQ until everyone else deplaned and then an escort would come to their seat to get them. At least 10-12 of them decided they didn't need chairs anymore.
An airline can't require that a passenger who preboards also accept deplaning assistance if the passenger only requested preboarding assistance. Airlines can't require that passengers accept extra assistance if they don't want it.

Recently on a flight I showed up a somewhere in zone 2 or 3 with PREM boarding so I went to the sky priority line with lots of angry faces. The GA refused to acknowledge me continuing with the zone ignoring me through 5-10 people. There was a GA standing behind him who waved me up. I walked up and a women physically pushed me "said you cut ......." jammed her boarding pass to the GA and pushed me again.
At this point I expect the GA who was ignoring me to be as shocked as I was. Well no he said quite loudly "you wait until I call you up" I said "the GA behind you waved me up" before I could get "up" out he yells louder I SAID you wait until I call you up" I am assuming the other GA is a trainee or something so I finally said "fine but I was called up, and step back to the entrance of the sky priority line. He yells "get back over here I'm going to allow you to board before all these people because you HAVE to" he scanned the BP, and kept yelling about him being in charge as I am boarding. I'm surprised he didn't join the flight and sit and yell at me on the 2 hour flight that he is in charge.
Ugh leave it to ATL GA's, arguably a good chunk of them are awful which you would think DL would want to show off their best employees at their world port but sadly no.

I'm used to the wonderful staff at CVG. It sucks that DL's main hub can't be the same.
