Adding SkyMiles # on China Eastern/Southern

I booked 2 chinese domestic flights in mid february on both CZ and MU. These flights were booked through TravelZen and I ensured I was in a fare class that gained miles.

Unfortunately, I cannot find any way now of adding my skymiles # to the ticket.
The two websites for CZ and MU are awful.

Any insight will be appreciated.

It should be fine if you remember to add the number at the airport, either at the check in counter or at the gate. I would be less optimistic about adding it in the lounge as those tend to have contract employees IME with CZ.

You can call CZ and MU in China to ask them to add your SM number into your current itinerary; or you can wait until check-in to ask the agent to input your SM number (this option might not work well if your departure city within China is not a major CZ or MU city).

To reach CZ in China: 011 86 20 95539
To reach MU in China: 011 86 21 95530

I'm flying out of Hangzhou (HGH) and also Guangzhou (CAN).
I'll try to do it at the airport, otherwise I guess I'll be faxing....

I've had to take a few domestic flights last year with CZ. Even though I added my SM# at the check in desk, I ended up having to fax Delta to get the credit for the mileage. Delta usually has the credit added the same day that you fax them.

Odds are you will be faxing, tried to have them add my skypesos number at 3 different locations and no one could/would. Also I had a problem with Delta when flying/purchasing my ticket direct through China Eastern, but being put on a Shanghai Airlines flight (direct subsidiary of China Eastern) had to fax my itinerary/bill from China Eastern proving I was on there flight to get skymiles credit.

Yeah right now i've made a good effort to ensure im flying on partner metal and I got the right fare classes. Now I just need to ensure the SM# is attached.

Meanwhile I have ticket #'s but no way of finding the itinerary online.

Just do it at checkin.

Would you still get miles if if the China Southern CZ fight was on Maylasia airlines metal? All the booking classes and flight number is with CZ. Flight is KUL to PEK.

SkyTeam-coded flights must be operated by SkyTeam members to earn miles. Thus, CZ-coded, MH-operated does not earn SkyMiles.

I can only speak to MU. I had this exact situation last summer and the MU call center was able to add the number with no issue. This is probably the best route.

I realize this thread is old and apologize for bumping it, but couldn't find anything more recent. I successfully added my SM # to my MU flights prior to departure. Curious how long it takes to credit the miles & MQM's back to my SM's account?
