What is an STD PARTY?
 
No joke. I was looking at the seatmap for a flight, and I glanced at the URL in the little box. It read:

http://www.delta.com/ism/SeatMapDisp...0?STD_PARTY?DL

What the heck does STD_PARTY mean? It sounds like a lot of fun...

But seriously, do any tech people have any idea what this stands for?

According to DL.com:

The seat map for this flight is currently not available.

I guess the party has been shut down! :D

(More seriously, STD probably means standard.)

Well, as a web designer, sometimes I've been known to use weird handles and names for things, but never anything that can be construed to mean what "STD_PARTY" could mean. :p

Maybe it's a programmer poking a bit of fun while writing something that stands for Standard Party. Of course, it could just mean that you've been flagged for a special check next time you fly internationally.

More than one I have described something in a email to the wife as a std (standard) size, shape, color.... only to have her point out that I really should write out that whole word for this same reason.
