Seems really tough
I just booked award flight and could not pay taxes or EC upgrade with vouchers (My Ecredits are for flights not taken - not VDB or other compensation).
I also needed change another flight and the CSR informed me that only one Ecredit voucher can be used per transaction (she did try but the system would not let her). I had one credit of about $50 and another for $125 so I had to choose which one to apply towards the $150 change fee.
BTW - they have no problem combining one Ecredit with a credit card.
