Using an e-credit for someone else

I recently cancelled an itinerary, and received most of the ticket value back by way of an e-credit into my account.

Can I use it to buy a ticket for my other half? Or am I limited in getting a ticket just for me? The website seems to only let me book the latter.

thanks.

Absolutely. Just book it out of your account (signed in) for her or him and apply the cert at at the payment screen. BTW, on the last payment screen you can change the traveller name. It defaults you in but you can enter anybody there.

In my experience, a credit received from cancelling a non-refundable ticket is non-transferable and can only be redeemed for travel for the person named on the credit. They differ from TCVs, which although they might be associated with a particular person, can be used to book travel for anybody.

My mistake. I was thinking TCV and I have used those for other people before.

Did you get an e-mail with a voucher number? If so, check the terms and conditions at the bottom of the e-mail, some will allow you to assign the number to someone else, others will not!

Only way to do this is to take the credit, book the cheapest non-refundable one way you can find, forgo the money lost on that flight and the rest of the balance will be a voucher usable by anyone.
