Minimum Connection time for Delta-Delta connections in Seattle

Domestic-domestic: 30 minutes

Domestic-international: 30 minutes

International-domestic: 1 hour
Exceptions:
  • Arriving from a Canadian airport with preclearance: 30 minutes
  • ICN-SEA-MSP: 1 hour 10 minutes
  • Any international to domestic connection* through SEA going to ATL, DEN, DTW, HNL, JFK, LAS, LAX, PDX, SFO, SJC, or SLC: 1 hour 10 minutes
* except if coming from a Canadian airport with preclearance, in which case the 30 minute MCT prevails. (Example: YVR-SEA-LAX would be a 30 minute MCT, not 70 minutes, since YVR has preclearance.)

International-international: 1 hour
Exceptions:
  • Arriving from a Canadian airport with preclearance: 30 minutes
  • Going to YVR or YYC: International to international MCT at SEA is 1 hour 10 minutes if you're connecting to one of those two airports
NOTE IF FLIGHT IS MARKETED AS A CODESHARE MCT CAN BE DIFFERENT.

Is 25 minutes long enough to make a connection in SEA?

My awards flight ticket from OGG-ATL-LGA was changed to OGG-SEA-ATL-LGA. Delta doesn't seem to have a direct flight from OGG to ATL anymore. My concern is that I only have 25 mintues to make my connection in SEA. Is this enough time?

No. I'd call Delta and see what they can do to change your flights. Before you do call, have some possible flights in mind as DL will do almost anything to accomodate.

Did DL book you onto a AS flight for OGG-SEA? I thought it might be NW but find no NW flights. At any rate, I'd imagine the shortest time between any gate AS mainline uses and what DL uses is at least 15 minutes (it's a very long walk).

You could ask DL if they'll route you onto a CO or an AS flight to EWR.

same thing happened to us. changed our OGG-LAX-ATL to OGG-SEA-ATL. Left us only 25 minutes...called and they were able to re-book our entire trip with the flights we wanted and luckily (as of right now) are on DL 16 on the 777-LR bird from LAX to ATL in BE!!!!

I agree with the others 25mins from AS to DL is too tight at SEA. What are your dates? And what class of service?

NW operates OGG-SEA also but the flight will arrive in the South Satellite. I agree that 25 minutes is not long enough to connect to the DL-operated flight to ATL out of A. If you were transferring to another NW flight to MSP/DTW and the connection was also in S then it would be a 10 minute walk or less to your connecting gate.

Once DL moves all operations to S then connections (other than with AS) will be a breeze. (Though I much prefer the new A gates.)

Keep in mind that a flight as long as OGG-SEA is likely to arrive early.

That said, I'd try to get on the 77L from LAX-ATL as well.

I'm flying July 12 in FC

I wonder if they will let me change it to OGG-LAX-JFK

Before last week I would of told you to keep the flight you had and try to get the 7a flight out of SEA. The reason for this is because DL was suppose to fly this route with BE up front. For some reason they changed their mind and now just the really bad 757-200 config.

I am on this route for Aug. I called SMS yesterday and I told the agent the situation. She immediately was like "How could DL do that to you? That is nowhere near enough time to get through SEA with your luggage." She pretty much told me I had free choice of how I wanted to return. It may of been the nicest agent i have ever spoken to at SMS. Ask for Cassity!!!!

DL 16 (77L) is flying from LAX that day (checked for you.). I would suggest taking DL 1212 from OGG-LAX and then DL 16 from LAX-ATL. On this flight from LAX you will have the flat seats. Plus you get to leave OGG 2 hours later (10p now).

I guess the only problem is that you may have some grumpy passengers who had to leave SYD. I guess we would be the same for having to leave OGG.

Although this has historically been a NW route, DL is taking over the route beginning April 6 (the route is currently suspended - NW's service ended February 9). You shouldn't have to worry about switching concourses or airlines to make the connection.

I made the exact changes you suggested thank you.

Now since I am travelling with someone in BE on the 77L, where should I sit? There are walls separating the middle aisle seats. Should my campainion and I sit back to back by the window or a window and aisle seat?

Window and aisle combo is best, but even that doesn't really work well the way the seats are aligned.

Not a problem. I was having the same problem and decided to make the change. It made it a lot easier when DL decided to change the type of layout in the 752. Before I would not of minded going back to SEA if i was flying BE, but now that it is just a regular F, I would rather have the nice seat out of LAX.

As for seating, I did window/ aisle for my companion and I. I think i am 5 A/B. This seems to be a little better.

Seattle Connection

I am have an award itinerary on hold for LAX-SEA-AMS-LUX. The flight LAX to SEA is on AS and connecting to Delta for SEA to AMS. The connection in SEA is 1.5 hours long. I am thinking that connection should be fine but I have never flown through SEA and wanted some of your guys advice. I didn't know either how far I have to go transferring from AS to DL in SEA.
