Priority for gate upgrades
 
Looks like I'll be waiting for an upgrade at the gate on a Sunday flight SEA-ATL. Does check-in time matter? According to the DM line it does, but according to Delta.com, it's purchase time.

I don't usually rush to check-in at t-24, but this is my first Delta flight without an upgrade prior to check-in.

Nope. Staus/Fare/Amex/Time of ticketing.

That should be the headline of your post . . .

Check-in time does not matter unless you had two people with equal status in the same fare bucket who requested the upgrade at the identical same time. Only in that instance would check-in time break the tie.

It 's time of upgrade request, not time of ticketing, which is not always the same.
