Thought I might have missed this with all the Cyber Monday panic. Glad to see it hasnt started yet. Hope they give us a decent amount of time to make a purchase.

My wife and I have been through the catalog and can't find $500 worth of stuff that we would buy without the promotion, which is our litmus test. Also, I don't see any $500-class items that I think would sell on eBay for only a small loss. I don't want SkyPesos badly enough to go for this deal. Maybe if there were iPads.

For anyone who doesn't quite understand this promotion, I have written up a complete explanation of how to take advantage of the offer. The basic steps include:
  1. Submit a qualifying order ($500 or more) at SkyMall to get 25,000 points
  2. Resell item(s) ordered at a modest loss on eBay
  3. Enjoy SkyMiles acquired at a very low price, or
  4. Convert SkyMiles into gift cards
  5. Sell gift cards on Plastic Jungle (the return on the gift card sale should be greater than the loss on the eBay sale) for a nice profit
  6. Repeat as many times as practical

If anyone notices any errors, please let me know.

Very good write up that really summarizes everything nicely. I recommend everyone read it.

One thing you might want to change is that $520 is unrealistic after taxes+shipping (not sure where skymall charges sales tax, they do in MD that's for sure). I think it was about $553 for me last time around.

I have a tax free address which makes this more reasonable, it just takes forever for items to reach me. I recommend knowing someone in a tax free state to make this more reasonable. Plenty of mail forwarding places as well.

TheManofaThousandPlaces mentioned Bigcrumbs on his post. Did anybody use BigCrumbs for the cash back during the first round? I remember reading somewhere that you have to directly go to the Skymall page to get the promotion but I might be wrong.

You cannot go through any other site, only Skymal.com/25000 directly.

Not for me! To be able to buy 100K biz class tickets to Europe for well under $1000 ALL-IN is of great value to me!@:-)

True enough. That's why you would stop at bullet point #3, but not everyone is in this boat.

Say I buy 10 identical items to sell on ebay for this...

1) Is it better to post a multi-item buy-it-now listing, or
2) 10 single item buy-it-now listings?

@deltagoldflyer - which did you do last time? Thx

If you make a $500+ order and receive the 25k miles, would the 25k miles be withdrawn if you did a price match and dropped your total order amount to <$500?

Yes, your order must be OVER $500 after the price-match and you only have 30 days to price-match while the miles will take 90 days or so to post.
