Hi fellow FTers!
I'm working on updated for the new roll out of Comfort + (C+)
Thanks!

On March 1, 2015, DL rebranded Economy Comfort as "Comfort+."
Delta - Comfort+
dl.com: LINK
Comfort+ FAQ - LINK
Offering:
  • C+ is a complimentary upgrade (space available) for DM and PM after booking. GM can access for free at T-72 and FO at T-24. (There is no longer a discount for GM/FO.)
  • Sky Priority boarding
  • Extra legroom and, on international a/c, extra recline
  • Free wine, spirits and regional craft beers, plus premium snacks
  • Complimentary premium entertainment from Delta Studio™ (No longer relevant as of July 1st; Entertainment now complimentary in Y)
  • On JFK-LAX/SFO flights, a Luvo® sandwich wrap and frozen Greek yogurt bar, pillow, blanket, and sleep kit are included

A few general notes regarding DL C+:
  1. On international a/c, the bulkhead seats often have a significant amount leg room (other than the 764).
  2. The bulkhead and exit row seats are often narrower as the tray table and/or IFE unit are in the arm rests. The arm rests do not move which, coupled with a smaller seat, can be uncomfortable for larger pax.
  3. The first row of regular economy seating after EC IS NOT recommended. The last row of EC has the EC recline and members have reported that there's no extra space between this row and the first row of regular Y.
  4. Selecting C+ Seats - You cannot select or purchase C+ seats until after booking is completed on revenue or award tickets. The UG has to clear as well.
************************************************** ***********
Internationally Configured Aircraft
Per DL, International/transoceanic C+ offers 35" pitch and 6" recline. (LINK)

747-400 / 744 / 74S:
  • dl.com seat map: 747-400
    Rows 22-26 - 42 total C+ seats.
  • Legroom:
Row 22 ABC/HJK and 24 DEFG are the bulkhead seats. 22C/H are noted as having unlimited legroom and some have noted that people can congregate due to the proximity of the lavatories, which are located directly in front of the first row of C+ on the 744. 22ABC have recently received poor reviews because of the lav and galley - people tend to congregate in this area and it can become stinky. Comments on 22K indicate that pax can access the aisle without disturbing other passengers. Also, the lavatory near 22HJK is blocked for BusinessElite pax, so there tends to be fewer disturbances and become less smelly over the course of a long flight. Also, seats 22B and 22J can be used for bassinets.
Some might prefer the legroom of row 35/51 on the 744 with less recline and tray in armrest.

    Rows 31-34; 36 C+ seats
NOTE: As DL reduced the number of Business Elite seats on the 777s, rows 29-32 are now the C+ seats.
The C+/Economy seats on a/c has winged headrests.
  • Legroom:
Row 29/31 seats are the bulkhead seats and have plenty of leg room. Rows 30-32/32-34 are standard C+ seats with USB and plug power. Row 44 (exit row) has excellent legroom, but no power outlets. The window seat sin this row are narrower because the tray table is in the armrest does not move up. The recline is standard recline.
    IFE:
These a/c are equipped with IFE at each seat.

  • Legroom:
On the 764, the bulkhead seats (row 15) have less leg room than the 763's; there's probably about 2' or so between the edge of the seat and the wall. The bulkhead seats do not have moveable arm rests and the tray table/IFE monitor are in the arm rests. In my experience, I felt like the A332/333 and 763's had better recline in EC than the 764.
  • IFE:
These a/c are equipped with IFE at each seat.

C+ and Priority Boarding/Baggage Allowance:
Passengers in C+ get Sky Priority boarding unless their elite status provides a higher boarding zonemu access. There is no additional baggage allowance unless elite status or fare class provide it.

Status Changes:
There have been a couple of questions regarding C+ when a member's status drops down after January 31. Typically, seats will hold unless there is an equipment change. If there's a change, the passenger(s) will most likely be seated in regular economy. There are reports of some success contacting @delta to get reseated in C+.

Did you leave DL and then come back? You seem to still be living in England, which would be BA territory.

How long does it usually take for the C+ upgrade seats to become available on international trips? Website says "shortly after booking" for Plat/Dia ... Looking at a Oct LAX-SYD itinerary that shows row 30 availability on 777, booked it but C+ upgrade has not yet cleared a few hours afterwards. Only booking this far out b/c of row 30 availability, so will likely cancel within 24h window if it doesn't clear by then.

I think the rule of thumb is once the ticket is issued, provided there is SU inventory (does "View Upgrade Details" show "upgrade available to C+" in the search results?) -- the only other thing that springs immediately to mind is whether you have a traveling companion in the same reservation without a SkyMiles number?

Shows "upgrade available" in the search results, and my companion has a Skymiles number on the same reservation (she is silver M).

**Update: there was definitely something funky with the reservation, canceled and rebooked, C+ seats were available immediately. FWIW, called Plat desk to inquire before canceling, was useless. Thank You!

C+ on the CRJ-200 aka CRJ?

I have a booking which is a connection between mainline and a CRJ-200 segment. AFAICT there's no C+ on the CRJ-200 segments in that I can't pick a C+ seat or see a price for the C+ "upgrade" and searching for the flights shows lots of mixed cabin itineraries, although I can purchase a FC ticket with apparently broken fares and be seated in main cabin on the CRJ-200 segments or the same (but I wouldn't) for C+ on the mainline segments, where the only available C+ seats are middles. Departure is in about four weeks and it doesn't seem possible to request the C+ "upgrade" for only the RJ segments. This shouldn't be an elite/business heavy route, although the mainline segments might be based on the time/day of week. Also, fare classes offered are middle ones for main cabin, so I don't think the flights are that full.

When I booked the ticket (within about the last hour), it showed C+ "upgrade" available for the mainline segments (FC upgrade eligible, but I'm not yet close to the DM window) but gave no information for the C+ "upgrade" on the RJs and there's no option on the itinerary to manage upgrades on the RJ segments.

Has DL eliminated C+ on the CRJ-200?

ADDED: The mystery deepens. When I look at these CRJ-200 flights on EF, there are no C+ fare codes (W or S). The fare availability list starts with Y rather than W0 S0 as I would expect. When I check a couple other random CRJ-200 flights, I see some that are (for example) W2 S2 9, some W1, S0, Y5, and some W0 S0 etc.

My segments are (unfortunately) operated by SkyWest if that makes a difference.

Are any seats left in row 1? Only row 1 is C+ on the CRJ-200 and there are only four seats so it can sell out quickly. I'm still seeing plenty of flights left with S itinerary on CRJ-200s.

It could be that it's operated by a SkyWest house CRJ-200 which is owned by SkyWest (and is painted in a SkyWest paint scheme) and can operate as a swing aircraft for any airline that SkyWest operates for, in which case, Delta would designate row 1 as choice seats.

Does the purchase of an extra EXST seat still trigger the companion complimentary C+ upgrade for both seats?

I'm flying comfort+ on a day flight in a couple of months BOS-LAX, travelling by myself. I'n on the Delta one configured 757 so C+ starts at row 18. I would like a window seat and based on currently available seats have a choice of 18E, 19A or F or standard window seat further back. I like the idea of not having to bother my seatmates to get up so I have selected 19F. I just want confirm that this seat does in fact allow you to look out of the window and does enable you to get up without others having to get up?
I am guessing this seat is narrower than a standard seat due to the table?
thanks
Update I just found this youtube video
and the seat looks quite awkward. In order to stretch your legs you have to squash them next to 19E. Wondering if travelling alone this is not a good idea?

All three of the seats you mention, 18E, 19A and 19F are "bulkhead" seats where there is a hard non-moveable armrest on each side of the seat.18E's only "window" is the small round porthole in the full size door next to the seat. All three seats are identical width-wise, so take that into consideration as well. 19A and 19F would have one window next to your shoulder, with the full size entry door directly in front of each seat. The entire plane (at most gates) will board through the door directly in front of 19A. Good luck!

Thank you for your detailed response! I will avoid the bulkheads and go for a standard window. Looking at seat guru there are further bunch of "misalingned" windows. So 've just gone for 24A which is not the last row and seems to have a normal window. I'll just tuck myself away in the corner! Anyway after this flight I'm connecting to a J seat on Qantas A380 with a pending upgrade to First so I'll cope with this by looking forward to my transpac in comfort!

A330 C+

Planning to fly JFK-AMS in September in a Delta A333 using Chase SR miles. Few questions:
- I upgraded for 11,000 miles to Comfort Plus. Does that even makes sense assuming the plane will not be full?
- As far as seats are concerned: 10 A/B/H/J are not available. Tempted to select 10C/G (bulkhead), especially since the middle seats D/F are blocked due to Corona restrictions. Would you recommend this?
