Any cap on rollover?

It's been a busy year; looks like I'm going to finish 2011 with about 290K MQM. One way to look at it is 2012 DM locked, 2013 DM locked via rollover, and 10K short of GM for 2014.

Is that right (hoping!) or is there some cap on how many MQM's I can rollover? I don't see anything in T&C's but I admittedly didn't look that hard. Anybody know?

Thanks.

Let's just hope they keep the rollover as part of the program for 2013 and beyond. I am in the same boat as you. I'll hit about 275k this year.

Currently no cap, but I would not expect unlimited rollover to continue in its current form... its speculation, but my guess is it will become limited somehow in a way... for example cap at 125k rollover per year.

Last year I rolled 179K. As it is right now, I will roll 310K and I still have two more trips to Asia and one maybe two more to Europe which are not counted. I don't see how they can keep it in it's current form, as I would keep DM without flying again on DL until 2014. I can see a cap of 100,000 in the future.

just out of curiosity how many of those are BIS miles?

Those are impressive numbers.

It does appear to be an unsustainable model. Fly 150MQM/yr, and get free DM every 6th year.

I'd rather have DL to switch to some material form of awarding over the threshold travel like it used to be before. AA, for example, give extra SWU's which is nice. But wait! You can actually use those on AA.

Sure hope they don't change the rollover for 2012. But if Delta makes an "enhancement", rather than a cap on the rollover, they could require, say, 10K/20K/30K/50K MQMs (silver, gold, plat, diamond) in the previous year for the rollover to kick in. That way, they'd guarantee at least a minimum amount of business each year and still offer the perk. But maybe that's too complicated.

I agree. I am not sure this was really thought through with the Rollover. I rolled over 220k last year - will likely roll over 260k or 270k this year.

Maybe roll over BIS only? MQM can apply to elite levels, yet only BIS can be rolled over?

Making a distinction between BIS and MQM would be ugly... especially since some of us get a lot of our MQM through premium tickets at 1.5x miles.

I could be wrong, but I think he meant MQM via CC or Hotel stays etc.

At the moment I'm approaching 500k MQM in the account... 50k from CC all other from rollover

Rollover is what kept me flying DL this year and what keeps my spend from going to AA.

This will never happen as AMEX wouldn't like it.
