Problem with status matching program
I signed up for Delta's status match. Instead of enrolling me in the program described on their website, they just sent me a platinum card and a standard welcome letter instructing me to select my elite choice award. The letter was sent to an old address (not the one I submitted with my request) -- and I didn't get the letter until 60 days after the letter was sent.
I had hoped to have a 90 day window to qualify for my status next year. instead, it appears that I wasn't even enrolled in the status match program, I have a card good for just a few months, AND I don't get the elite choice benefit mentioned in the letter I don't want the elite choice benefit. I just want the opportunity to qualify. I flew 17,000 miles within the first 3 weeks and had planned to do a r/t to Tokyo on them to hit the 26,000 mile in 90 day requirement but I'm stuck in Delta limbo. Platinum desk was sympathetic and told me to directly fax the VP of Loyalty. Still waiting for a response. Simultaneously, received a random letter from someone saying that I had already been matched so couldn't participate in the program (bizzarre because this is the first time I have applied and they did match me). I've been GS on UA for 3 years and 1K for what has to be at least 10 years. Delta should want my business but there is no way I'm stepping down to no status to give it to them. Anyone else caught in limbo? Any suggestions? |
