Upgrading with points
 

Hello Everybody,

Quick question:

Is upgrading with points possible with Delta? I have around 100,000 points and I am going to Dubai after 2 weeks.

If the answer is a yes, can somebody please tell me how?

First, you have to purchase an M fare or higher ticket, and there has to be upgrade inventory available. For international tickets, upgrades are processed into Z inventory. It would cost 25k miles each way for the upgrade.

I should caution that M fares are quite expensive, so don't be surprised if that comes back at 3k+
Also, the ATL-DXB route is often difficult to upgrade on since there are a lot of people who travel on paid biz class fares. Usually that route doesn't have Z available in advance unless it is way out or last minute, at which point higher level elites using SWUs would be upgraded before you with miles.
