32C on a MD-88?

I'm choosing seats for a flight on Friday and the exit rows are full (well, there are middle seats but, well, you know).

On the Delta seatmap it show rows 32 and 33 as exit rows also, with what looks like an empty row in front of row 32. Is this true? Seatguru.com shows a mysterious box in front of that row.

Any insight would be appreciated.

I have posted multiple times here to get any feedback on this seat but no replies from anyone yet.

There are two versions of this aircraft - the old one had a galley by the back left hand service/exit door. The new version has removed the galley, and extra seats installed instead. So far, it seems to be largely unknown if 32ABC have a bulkhead in front of them, or whether they are right next to the exit door with extra leg room.

If you do take this seat, can you report back and let us know your thoughts?

Beware though if row 32 and 33 are listed as exit rows there could be no recline in row 32.

32A does not exist. 32BC exist, and have extra room. There is a flight attendant jumpseat facing rear in front of the row. 33A for the win. 33BC look normal. 32DE and 33DE are normal. None of this bodes well for the ABC side behind 33, but I didn't think about that until I was off the plane, so I couldn't go back and check.

All of this is true only on the reconfigured 16F MD88. On the 14F config, the seats do not exist at all. And they swap often. I would not reserve these seats in advance.

DO NOT trust seatguru on the 16F config. They make stuff up.

Thanks for the advice! I will pick a seat closer to the front, but in the name of science I'll take a walk to the back and report back on what I find. Thanks especially to you, Seat1A

Old thread, but I came here looking for an answer myself. I don't usually fly Delta, so I was trying to figure out if row 33, specifically 33c was a good seat. I ended up booking that seat and took a few pics in hopes it would help future fliers.

Safe travels!

As the pictures show, there is no wall in front of row 32. 32C has a good amount of extra legroom. The phone box eats up a good chunk of it for 32B. Also, and this is my least favorite part about that row... 32B and 32C are narrower than the rest of the seats on the plane. Stick to 33A, it is the clear winner.
