Same day Standby on Skyteam award tix?
 
Hello,
I'm hoping someone has experience trying to standby on an award ticket with either Air France or Air Europa. My award ticket (X) is not the best flight routing, and I'm wondering if it's worth the effort to try to get onto an earlier flight if it looks like there are seats. Thanks for any insight!

You can ask, but I doubt it will happen. I've been early for AF flights before (intra-Europe) and they offered to allow me on an earlier flight if I paid for it.

DL does not allow SDC on any international flights.

Nor standby. Standby is only allowed on DL domestic flights and is only available to flyer's with Gold Medallion status or higher.

Additionally, SDS and SDC are only permitted on DL metal/DL operated flights. No no AF, KLM, AS, etc...

You can SDC/SDS OFF of partner metal ONTO DL metal, but not the other way around. (So you can change off of an AS BOS-PDX flight onto a DL BOS-PDX routing. But not the reverse.)
