Priceline and same day standby
I took a chance and booked a "name your own price" last minute flight over priceline. It leaves very early tomorrow morning (6am) . I called Delta to see if it was eligible for the Same Day Standby program and they indicated that no Priceline or Hotwire fares were.
Is this what you are all seeing, or should I try and call back to find a more knowledgable agent? Cheers, and Happy labor day! |

I've never used Priceline for tickets - - only hotels. I was wondering, while it's fairly common knowledge that these tix are "Use 'em or Lose 'em", has it ever been reported anywhere that an occasional exception was made for a PM or DM as far as same-day standy-by goes?

Definitely a no-go over the phone. Like with most SDC rule-bending, you're much more likely to be successful at the airport than over the phone.
One caveat: I've heard that priceline tickets are very hard to reissue in the delta systems. Given that, you're much more likely to be successful if your desired flights have the exact same routing as your original flights. I tend to not mind risking things like this, but given that you'd be changing to a later flight, I probably wouldn't do it. |
