I myself would not do it, I am a PM, but anything that would work is fair game for the chase.
Doing this is no different than trying to pick up a girl at a restaurant, bar, store or club.

Is it ethical? Sure, however it is considered showboating. Beside, the hottest babes know that Diamond is overkill, perhaps compensating; Platinum is where real men are found......

Ethical? Yes.
Pathetic? Yes.
As previously mentioned, it's no different than pick-up lines used anywhere else and it's certainly commonplace for men to attempt to flaunt their money, cars, etc. This is just the airline version of trying to show how rich/important a man considers himself.

Once chatted w a dude w an AMEX black card & his name listed as Lord something-or-other as he tried desperately to pick up ski bunnies in a bar in Zermatt, Switzerland. As far as I could tell, the only thing Lord FancyPants picked up that night was the tab.

I think most women would rather have a medallion of Diamonds around their neck than a Diamond Medallion card.
Maybe the clink-clink from those bag tags drives the ladies wild. And after the deed is done, Biscoffs and a cigar?
Not quite sure I get the appeal, and I haven't seen this happen, but if it does happen before my eyes I will be quite amused.
