*Note: This configuration is used inclusive on SEA-PVG, ATL-LOS. It also frequently works SEA-ATL to provide rotation. These aircraft do cover flights to Europe All 36J seats will be sold because it has a crew rest module installed. Also, the Y seats are the older ones like the 777 with the older IFE system (only 767-300ER type with that, all others are the newer seats/system).
**All retired 6/30/2020 due to COVID-related fleet simplifications

What DL is believed to do is put all flights with 26J as the 76Z Version 2 configuration and then change it to 76Z Version 1 closer to departure as needed. If you select 20-21CDE when it is 76Z Version 2 and it changes to 76Z Version 1, it should seat you in 13-14CDE considering that 20-21CDE doesn't exist on the configuration it changed to. All other seats are numbered the same regardless of Version 1 or 2, although there may be minor differences such as row 20 being an exit row on Version 1.

All -

I'm flying SEA-PVG on April 6 (DL 589). I'm trying to figure out if this bird will have the older business-elite branded seats in the D1 cabin or will it have the quilted newer variety?

Is there any way to tell?

Thanks -

I'm not sure what you're asking - all international 767s have the lie-flat D1 seats. Whether the seats themselves will have the old BE branding or the newer D1 seat covers depends on how many of the 76Ts have gotten them. There are only 7 ships that could be used to operate the SEA-PVG route. I think by this point it's likely the case that all (if not, most) of the international fleet has gotten the new seat covers.

Thanks. I meant the seat covers; I know they have the D1 lie flat seats, but there's something gross about the old BE seat covers.

I'm flying a 76Z v2 from LAX-JFK in a few days. I'm currently in an Exit Row Aisle, 21B. No bathroom near me according to the Delta seat map. I'm Medallion Gold, so I clear for upgrades to C+ tomorrow. Only a few seats avail in C+ right now and all in the middle section Aisle (Rows 16-17). I'm a big guy 240lbs and 5'10". Any opinions on which seat option is better?... and whether I should opt out of the upgrade and just stick with 21B for this flight? Thx!

Looks like 36J was too much, they are re-modding at least 5-8 birds into 26J birds starting this winter and should be done by Summer Flying.

Ignorant layperson question: would this help with utilization/ease of rotating aircraft between international routes and the JFK D1 TCONs? And/or possibly open up more domestic D1 routes (i.e. if potentially more 767 to JFK that could free up more 75S for elsewhere -- saw your other post about LAX-BOS)

Surprisingly, the 764 are picking up a fair amount of JFK-LAX rotations. I think that this more that 36J is too high a percentage of premium seats for routes that DL is flying. A fair amount of TATL flights leisure-oriented (less J demand), and in the winter, D1 demand is very reliant on corporate work, but 36 is still overkilling it.
I know non-revs who would always get flights on these birds because they would usually get a D1 seat.

767 is a very poor business class product. The seat cover cannot save it! I will take UA PMCO Biz class any day over the DL 767 seat, especially the throne center seat on the UA 767 or an aisle.

Any pre-existing 76Z route. This isn’t a new configuration, or hard product.

Looks like the number is going to be 14, these are the youngest in the fleet, so makes sense.

1702 and 1703 both recently exited maintenance at CAN and can confirm that they are still configured as 76Ls. 1704 entered a month ago (should be exiting soon) and 1705 entered a few days ago.

N1501P (ex. 76G/Gulf Air) is being retired this week.
N153DL and N182DN will be retired this winter.
N184DN will leave Q3 2018.

Domestic ships N140LL and N1402A are staying to Q3 2018 too.
