SWU Usage Question

I'm confused...

I'm looking to go to Prague using my PM SWU vouchers. The routing I found on Delta.com goes STL>ATL>CDG>PRG. The fares per segment are as follows:
  • STL>ATL on Delta - Fare Bucket Y
  • ATL>CDG on Air France - Fare Bucket W
  • CDG>PRG on Czech Airlines - Fare Bucket Y
Same on the return, just flipped.

I guess I'm not 100% sure on how these work. Will I get the upgrade on all segments? Will I not get the upgrade on the Czech Airlines segment? I'm very confused... Any help understanding this would be greatly appreciated.

You need o make sire inventory is available to use the SWU before you purchase your ticket. Call the PM line to have them check and if not available ask which flight routing that it is available.

A SWU isn't going to upgrade a Czech Airlines-operated segment.

STL-ATL : Yes, and as a Plat you should clear instantly on the medallion upgrade anyway even without the SWU, assuming upgrade space is available.

ATL-CDG : Yes, W (premium voyager) is upgradable to business class. However, there needs to be "O" inventory available on the AF flight. There is no automated waitlist, so you'd have to keep checking for O inventory to become available and call quickly to snag it.

CDG-PRG : No, not unless somebody messes up and accidentally tickets the upgrade.

Note: The ticket must be reissued before departure with the SWU show as 'closed', especially for the AF segment since that reissue takes longer.

Even if the CDG-PRG were operated by AF instead of OK (and something's fishy in that relationship...I was booked earlier this year for AF-coded, OK-operated CDG-PRG later this month and then they just dumped the codesharing agreement, so I'm on AF metal for it), you wouldn't be able to be upgraded beyond CDG. Not that it matters, as intra-EU J/C is just Y with the middle seat blocked and maybe a real meal.

Excellent. I already have a subscription - it's been very helpful. What fare bucket would these fall into?
