Welcome, Anton.
Don't know which flavor of DL Amex you got, but if you spend upward of $25K, may wish to look at the DL Plat Amex. You can receive MQM bonuses for spending $25K or $50K--a good way to get up into Medallion territory. While many belittle the FO level, it has some nice perks over SM base, such as reserving an exit row seat, or checking two free bags. Regards, Spida |
Welcome Anton
There are some really wonderful helpful people here on the Delta forum Some suggestions to maximize your time here Read the stickied post Learn how to use the advanced search functions Be truthful Have fun Welcome again Maps |
As somebody said, DL is now a credit card company partnered with AMEX that happens run an airline on the side.
If you fly DL, it is almost always right to own and use a DL branded card. Which one can be complicated. Despite all the flames on this board, it is a valuable source of knowledge for those flying DL, even some DMs can pick up something. |
well...

Welcome to FT, Anton!
FT has been a wonderful source of information for me. I thought I knew a lot about SkyMiles before I stumbled upon the site. I certainly learned a helluva lot here. Enjoy! |

Hi! Welcome! Remember, now that you have the AmEx card, starting September 1st, you'll be able to enjoy priority boarding.

Priority boarding?.. Enjoy?.. This is all so new. I've been so used to standing with everyone. So how does that work exactly? Do I just bypass the line, when they announce "priority boarding"?

You'll be part of Zone 2, which is a priority boarding zone. When they call it, feel free to board. It's brand new...and most around here are going mental over it.
Delta boards flights by zone numbers. After first class boards, next up is Zone 1 for Sky Priority members (Diamonds, Platinums, Golds) sitting in coach. Your boarding pass will indicate a zone number, in your case it should be Zone 2 because of your AmEx card. Well, that assumes you also have a Delta SkyMiles number which will be on your boarding pass as will an AxEx notation. You can get in line after Zone 1 boards, meaning you will board with Silvers and the other passengers with qualifying AmEx cards. Until it is time for your boarding, it is appreciated if you stay out of the way of others who are boarding before you. Look at your boarding pass when you receive it. If it says anything other than Zone 2, ask a Delta rep to explain why, preferably a RedCoat if one is available. It is possible the AmEx notation didn't get on your BP for various reasons. Welcome aboard! ^ |
