Question: DL's definition of "preferred"?

Hi, folks.
Just made FO and quite happy about it because of exit row access.
My question is whether, upon booking an economy ticket, I'm able to choose bulkhead on a domestic MD88 flight, or whether preferred seating only includes exits.

As to the larger discussion of whether FO's get upgraded ... I see it as an occasional plum. Not expected at all.

You should be able to pick exit rows and bulkheads as a Medallion member; I believe the wording is "preferred seating" on the Delta website & seatmaps.

On rare occasions though, the bulkhead may be blocked out to accommodate handicap passengers and such. I think that depends on the route and other passengers' requests, etc.

Congrats on Silver though ^

This. Especially on narrow-bodies, though, bulkheads are almost always blocked.

Bulkheads are blocked on lots of domestic flights.
