Sometimes they are stupid...and sometimes it is 8000 SkyPesos for a 4.5 hour flight with a meal that you had no chance of an upgrade on.

PSC-SEA-SAN $128/12,000 miles ($29 for the PSC - SEA segment on an ERJ175 and $99 for SEA-SAN on a 737-800). Gotta love all the "savings" with that bundle...

I got a $200 upgrade offer XNA-ATL-DCA Monday, but didn't take it since I was in C+ and was set to get a drink on each flight anyway - the only temptation was possibility of solo seat in CR9 on first leg. Regretted it when larger pax sat next to me in C+ exit row ATL-DCA (13F, where the seats don't have much breathing room) and first pax seemed to be getting full PDB service and then drinks in flight even though no-service-because-of-turbulence announcement was made after takeoff. But every random thing I want to buy this weekend I will justify by saying "Well, I didn't spend that $200 on an upgrade, so..."

Flight in September on a Sunday from MCO-SLC-LAS. One-way upgrade offer on these segments currently $213 or 19,900 SM. Half tempted on this one for me and my fiancé. The return from LAS-SLC-MCO is closer to $700 on the offer.

Then again, I suppose I could just keep my Comfort+ seats and chance it on the upgrade that late in the year too. Thoughts?

It would snag that, for sure.

Ya, definitely tempted. Perhaps I should just snag the MCO-SLC portion for $129. SLC-LAS is only $84 but it's really not that long of a flight, so I'm wondering if it's really worth it for us (2 people = $168 for that leg obviously).

Decisions, decisions.

once again, the $1/minute metric would certainly suggest that 3.5 hours MCO-SLC is “worth it”; while an hour or so SLC-LAS probably wouldn’t make the cut on its own, $200 for the entire outbound itinerary (~5 hrs) would also seem to qualify ... an extra ~1000 MQM might also enter the equation
