If you want it you better take it. Not the worst deal, but far from the best.

I'm going round and round about a $220 fare diff from Y to F on a CHS-ATL-SMF I need to buy, though I'm buying two tickets. I have $300 voucher, so the out of pocket difference is more like $420 ($580 vs $160 out of pocket) for the two tickets, which is painful.

If you have the AmEx plat, chase Ritz, or other CCs that have a airline fee credit, I would be more inclined to do it.

There's an outstanding post by findark in a thread he/she started in the UA forum called something like comprehensive analysis of domestic FCM on UA. It explains a lot about fare rules, coding, ticketing, and revenue management as currently done by UA and has some surprising insights. I highly recommend that everyone who follows DL's FCM options read this carefully.

That is pretty impressive. Wish he/she was on the DL forum.

I just accepted ~$100 offer for ORD-JFK in March. It was the fare difference.

Yay, I received my first buy up offer at C/I on the app. I am already confirmed in F for 2 of 3 segments. DL was kind enough to offer me a $259 buy up on DTW-MCO Saturday evening flight with 6 seats open in F @ T24.

Checked in and am now #1 of 3 for now 7 seats....

I am pretty sure I would take it too.

Ended up 2 of 6 for 7 seats. While I did get the ug, it was a window seat... since my entire row of C+ was open I asked if they would just keep me there and not fill the other sears. The flight was wide open and while F was full, I had an abundance of room with an aisle on an open row in C+. A much better move IMO.

Do tickets booked by UATP card still earn miles? My receipt says $0 despite my company paying several hundred dollars for the ticket. Delta is making it really hard to do business with them with these frustrating changes to the program that are hard for us to decipher as customers.

$109 for an SLC-LAX flight? You got ripped off. That's like an 1.5 hour flight, right?

The method of payment doesn't matter. Your ticket is most likely a bulk/consolidator ticket. Thus DL shows zero because they don't know what you paid, only what the TA paid. You'll earn based on % of mileage flown depending on fare class, plus 1/5th of mileage flown credited as MQDS.
