Exclamation The AVOD-in-Economy Status List

Here is a list of Delta aircraft and their AVOD status (ECONOMY ONLY), to the best of my ability. "None" indicates none currently, but may be installed in the future. That aircraft may or may not have overhead video.

BOEING 737-700: AVOD
BOEING 737-800: AVOD on some
BOEING 757-200: AVOD on ex-TWA and ex-Song birds
BOEING 757-300: None
AIRBUS A320/19: None
MD-88/DC9: None
MD-90: None
BOEING 767-300 (domestic): AVOD
BOEING 767-300ER: AVOD on aircraft flying 11 hours or longer flights
BOEING 767-400ER: AVOD
BOEING 777-200ER/LR: AVOD
BOEING 747-400: None
AIRBUS A330: AVOD

Thanks for the list!

Is there any way to definitively determine if your flight is going to have AVOD? The Delta "schedules" page just isn't right a lot of the time (with the amenity icons). For example, I recently flew DTW-SLC on a 757-200 -- I specifically chose the 5:20 flight (855) so that I'd have AVOD. I double-checked the seatmap and saw 7 rows in first -- so I thought that meant ex-Song. There was no AVOD (sorry didn't notice if there was still 7 rows in FC).

I usually do it by total # of rows. Ex-song and Ex-twa birds have 44 rows. So if it has 44 rows, it has AVOD - unless there is an equipment change.

For the 757s I think you can also go by whether or not it has 18 D/E as the first row in Y. Every 757 with AVOD that I have been on has had 18 D/E. The ones without AVOD have always started at row 19.

This is a good thread, if a little outdated due to the 26F 757 conversions and Economy Comfort in the two TATL 757-200 configurations.

Crap, just got re-routed to SFO - NRT and I believe the flight time is 10 hrs 55 mins. After the extra $ and flying time, I still ended up on the exact plane I was trying to avoid. Thanks, Delta.

Yep. Just checked; that flight only has overhead.

Should have loaded some movies on my iPad. I wonder if there are outlets in EC to charge my laptop.

I don't believe there are.

Might as well put the other PMNW narrowbodies on there if you're listing the MD's DL brought to the party (or has since acquired). DC9, A319, A320 all without AVOD. (Or any IFE other than GoGo.)

Wow, we had AVOD on that flight! The Japanese dude in my row was surprised and thrilled like me. He said he, too, flies to SFO via SEA to avoid the 767.

We were in EC and had a USB port to charge our iPads but no prongs for laptops.

Just added DC9 - I already had the A319/20s
