757 Question...

I normally don't fly a ton on the 757s, and they always seem different when I do. I know that Delta has several configs of this bird and was wondering how people figure out which it is. I tried a few things and can only figure out that it said 75Q, but I dont know which that is...

I am flying this sat from ATL to SJD direct and cant figure out if this bird has AVOD or not.

Thanks in advance.

One way calls for a look at F seating configuration, then the first rows of coach, and matching it to one of seven (?) configs found on SeatGuru. Much easier is just looking at the flight service icons on delta.com - the icons at upper right of flight selection showing wifi, AVOD or overhead video, lie flat seats, etc. IME the icon displays are most often correct.

Just looked, that flight won't have AVOD. Sorry!

Several is putting it lightly. I fly on DL 757's frequently and there are many combos. I've even seen gate agents run down the jetway to double check configurations as they hand out standby boarding passes.

On the 757's through ATL I rarely see the in-seat TVs. I usually see them when going out west through SLC or to SEA.

I've given up on SeatGuru since nothing has been updated recently.

Here are the basic guidelines to the 757 fleet:

If Row 18 is the first row of coach, the aircraft will have AVOD.
If the aircraft is missing seats 1C&D but does have 6C&D, you will have no audio/video entertainment whatsoever.
Otherwise, you will have overhead video and looped audio.

IME, 9 times out of 10 there will be an equipment change on the 757 anyway. Don't count on AVOD or retaining an exit row seat if you've selected one.

This has been my issue as well. It seems that everytime I book one of the exit row seats on the old NWA 757s, I end up getting moved to a window in the back of the plane due to a change in equipment after booking.:td:
