Potatoes: The New Corn?
After a long hiatus from domestic travel (almost two years of only international flights), I've found myself on a bunch of domestic flights in the past two months. In the most recent six or seven flights, I have been served the same dish - cold steak over romaine lettuce with an ENORMOUS side of potatoes.
The beef has generally been tasty and pink; the lettuce has always been fresh. But the potatoes. Why the potatoes? On what cold steak salad have you ever seen potatoes? Or so many potatoes? I'm certainly happy to get the upgrade, and I appreciate that there is now more plentiful food in general up front. But do they not have any other meals domestically these days? I've had this dish on flights in all directions, at lunch and at dinner, on 1.5-hour flights and 5-hour flights. |
If not corn or potatoes, whatelse do you want?

I have to admit, the potato salad has worn out its welcome for me...

Different people like different things....
I personally am not a fan of corn....reminds of school cafeterias... |

I kind of like the herbed potato salad -- in fact this is very nice lunch entree -- got it Saturday flying SNA-ATL.
at least the feta was concentrated on one piece of romaine, so i just didn't eat that. even so, the meal was pretty filling for a DL lunch lately -- i usually get the sub-1500 mile meals, which are pretty small at lunchtime. |
I think the red bell pepper fetish they seem to have outstrips everything else. Breakfast, lunch and dinner--there is always a piece of bell pepper hidden somewhere. Can you tell I don't like them .
