I'm Halfway to Making Diamond on flown 30,292 mile

I make my status each year first by segments, and NO Amex.

Currently I have 70 segments, 30,292 actual miles flown (not MQMs)

My average segment is about 425 air miles, too many ATL-BHM segments in the mix

My spend so far with DL is $15,072.00 or about $0.49 per mile flown

I probably finish out the year with about 180+ segments.

They really should implement something special for segment qualifiers (esp. with no rollover) - maybe giving an extra choice benefit or two. Or maybe gift certificates for a nice massage after every 50 segments .

Would not trade with you... I do it more on the long-haul (ok, alot more on the long haul). But, I must say that anyone who reachs DM on 200-300 miles seg. should get a box of advil and a free supply of woodford reserve...

They tried the massage 'have one on us' coupon but that was met with snark

I am right there with you. I have only had 2 flights all year that where more than 500 miles. I don't do nearly as many segments as you do and can't imagine.....

Getting DM on 60K miles is special enough.

Will DM even matter if you are only on CRJs and small planes? I guess the extra SDC benefit is nice but the 125% miles benefit probably doesn't help out that much

I pretty much only do coast to coast flights so my MQM add up pretty nicely

Some of us here are PM/DM and have half a million BIS miles... and have never owned a passport. It can be done, painfully, one regional jet at a time.

30,292 actual miles flown NOT MQM which would give him 35K

Instead, pretty much the opposite is true. Segment qualifiers generally get the ole DL Shaft.
