Just got Silver status today, as a silver what are some of the benefits I will get?

Preferred seating choices is the biggest perk - flown mileage bonus isn't bad, either. Other than that, not a lot. Your upgrade chances are pretty low but that all depends on the routes you fly.

Now you get to go for Gold!

Best perk for me was getting premium seating. No more middle seats. You can almost always get an exit row seat if you book a few weeks in advance. You're always Zone 2 boarding (need GM for Zone 1) and you cannot go in the priority security line.

I got upgraded like 5/20 times when I was SM... these were all from non-hub cities to a hub city on a very competitive route.

No. Not an MQM bonus, just a 25% redeemable miles bonus.

In some markets, they allow Silver Medallion access to the priority checkin and security lines. Look for the signs. They'll have the standard Sky Priority signs, but at the bottom it will say "Silver Medallion / SkyTeam Elite".

Waived baggage fees are a nice benefit as well.

I think PHL is like this.

I get upgraded about 80% of the time, although chances are pretty low when going out of hubs like MSP or ATL.

I have a trip next week, be interesting to see how it goes with upgrades

If you're on FT, never admit your UG cleared at least 24hrs out or you'll get the wrath of some Diamonds angry that they can't SDC to your flight (which is free to them, btw) AND get an UG on it.
