Booted from window to middle?

So tomorrow I'm flying a same day MSP-ATL-MSP (1291 and 744), I got upgraded before the window for my flight out so i was in 4A for the outbound and chose 26F for the return. Having checked in earlier today I went back a few min ago and looked at my seats again, and noticed I was no longer in 26F but rather 33E....a middle seat, and my original seat was now gone, and the only other 2 seats that were open were 21D, an aisle which I hate because i try to work on my laptop during the flight and don't like my work files being visible to everyone around me. or 24E a exit row with no recline. Called in and was told yea well sorry, which of the seats do you hate the least? so now I'm stuck in 21D.

Can anyone think of a reason why i'd be booted out of my seat after having picked in this close to the flight time? As far as i can tell there wasn't an equip change. If i complain about involuntary seat change can i expect any compensation?

Usually 500 bonus miles, automatic

Last time I had a middle seat as DL elite, I got 500 bonus miles and was automatic.

Since I can't see the original aircraft configuration on the seat map, I would venture to guess that the original metal was one of the NWA 757s. As such, there would have been four seats just behind FC that would have had to be reseated. I have had this happen a couple of times out of ATL and ended up in a center seat. Fortunately, there were enough available seats I was able to correct the problem before the flight.

The original config was a 757 also, seat chart looks the same to me.

You will very likely see "EQP 01" or "EQP 02" on your boarding pass now.

It looks like this flight is usually on a 757-200 Transcom (Seat Guru calls this the 75X).

Your flight is on one of the 757-200s (called 757-200 version 2 on Seat Guru).

FlightAware also shows this flight is usually on what they call a 752/Q, but that your flight is on a 752.

This also means you went from AVOD to overhead screens....bummer.

Well now I'm pissed. I picked that time for the return on the expectation that I could plug in and work the entire flight. This was the only run of the day that had the whole AVOD system....grr

Was it on a Monday? DL had a program that deposited 500 miles if you were in the middle seat on a Monday, but not on any other day.

Nope. My flight was on Wednesday (Jan 19) so it's definitely not limited to Monday. (The posting date, however, was on Tue Jan 18, one day prior to the actual flight....weird) but posted around the same day Jan 19 flight got posted.
