First time into JFK

Usually fly into LGA, but ORF-JFK is a non-stop, so...

Easy question, I hope. Is the taxi stand as blatantly obvious from DL baggage claim as the one at LGA?

Yes, it is.

Beware of livery cab drivers offering rides in the terminal. These are NOT officially licensed NYC taxi drivers.

At JFK, Delta is using the lovely facilities that used to be the home of Pan Am.

JFK, on a good day, is a very well run airport. The OP should have no issues.

Are you flying back out of JFK? If so, I see that all 4 flights a day from JFK/ORF are on RJ's, which depart from gates 23/24. You haven't experienced the "True Delta"(tm) until you've flown out of gates 23/24!!

It may not be pretty, but it really isn't that bad. It'll definitely get a lot better after the T4 construction.

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and 20mins from JFK. All I can say is JFK & especially LGA are nightmares... EWR is a pleasure compared to either if your airline flies there and your destination is Manhattan or NJ.

Agreed, but if the OP is wanting a nonstop back to ORF, it's probably JFK only.

No...no outbound from JFK. Going to LAX next and will go LGA-DTW-LAX. Don't think I've been on a 777 before. Looking forward to it.

Thanks, all, for the input!

If you are going into the city, you should ask a second question. Do cabs from JFK to Manhattan still have a fixed rate fare?

If that changed, I haven't heard about it.
