O/E availability on AF - when is it released?
I was pretty excited when SWUs became redeemable on AF. Since then I am searching O/E inventory on SEA-CDG with little luck. My travel dates are early June. But even earlier or later I can only find low E availability and O is always 0. All other fare classes are 9.
Going SEA-ATL-CDG, there is a random O=1. However, I have to go on to PSA, so I prefer the SEA-CDG-PSA routing. Anybody having luck finding SWU upgradable inventory on AF? How far out? Does anybody know if/when AF releases additional inventory? It seems east coast might be easier than from the west. Thanks. |
Oddly enough all I can find is lots and lots of O on SEA-CDG (have to go HNL-PSA), but not on LAX-CDG or SFO-CDG on the dates that I need.
In the end though settled for going the shorter route HNL-NRT-CDG-PSA (NRT-CDG being a Japan Airlines flight that is AF codeshare and had O available). |

I found decent O availability out in Oct/Nov or very close in Jan/Feb. Hence my question when AF releases inventory. |
you need to find S A W availability to upgrade into O.
E is the upgrade/award class for Premium Economy. |
ExpertFlyer alerts.

It seems AF releases some O availability farther out and more as flight time gets closer, should the flight not be selling. Just keep checking daily.

I just booked some tickets for September. I also could not find SEA to CDG, but I could book it if I connected in JFK. So I have to make that stop.

Can you determine O availability on the AF website? If yes, how?

Thanks all. Of course I have done my homework and EF is a given.

E is the upgrade/award class for Premium Economy. I am also checking E to get a better picture when AF is releasing upgrade inventory. Voyageur runs at $2050, PV at $2450, so PV is a no brainer

One can use ExpertFlyer or Flying Blue to find Business award seats SEA-CDG-PSA as sought by the OP - but perhaps not for the OP's specific date and passenger count. |

EF works just fine, there is just no O inventory. One interesting tidbit, FE does not return 0 inventory on AF. Instead it leaves it blank. |

Each year I spend a good 500K-1M SkyPesos, but still can't get rid of 'em fast enough! |

FlyingBlue accounts are free and require no mileage balance for award searches. Look for Classic awards. This is very handy for one looking to depart from a U.S. AF or KL gateway. Then search by schedule on delta.com to book online.

I have found that it really depends on the route with respect to when AF releases award availability. For example on their DTW - CDG flights they seem to open up availability about three months out. However on their IAD, ORD, JFK - CDG routes they seem to open availability much further out, maybe 10 or 11 months in advance.
