I think the SWU's best benefit employee's who work for companies that will only allow them to purchase a ticket in Y, even for international travel. It is their best chance to upgrade off of the employers' dime.

Laaaame. I qualified for Diamond last night, and didn't get a 2010 choice, either.

Not like I needed more SWUs, of course, but it's sort of the principle of the thing that bugs me.

I'm having the same problem. Just made diamond, and went into choice benefits, but it offered me only 2011 benefits. I actually decided to go to diamond now rather than stopping at a 49000 roll-over because FAQs said if one makes plat and diamond in same year, one can choose a benefit at plat and 2 more upon reaching diamond. Since this is clearly stated on the web site, I'm guessing there's a glitch. If the problem is that I already received a 2011 plat benefit, that's easily resolved; I'll give it back!

I'm having the same problem---just made DM and am only seeing a 2011 choice. Like others, I had thought I would get a 2010 choice and then a 2011choice. Can someone direct me to the spot on DL website where it allows this? I know there has been a lot of FT discussion about this, but I want some backup before I contact DL. Thanks.

I am in the same situation, and i most definitly went for Diamond because of the opportunity to pick choice benifits for 2010 and 2011. When and how you recieve a solution to this problem/glitch please post. What have you done so far? email? call?

Great question. Unfortunately this wasn't addressed specifically at the ALTDO but have to agree it would be nice if SMI would pop in periodically to address some of these issues, especially when the website is silent and there is no definitive source.

When you reach Diamond, you can pick only one from each category. In other words, you can't double up on miles, SWU's, etc.

But there is another choice you didn't mention. Think about using one of the benefits to pick up a voucher. It is as good as cash for DL flts and you get the benefit of MQM's.

Agreed these might not seem like the greatest of choices but to be fair to DL, at least they offer choices. Other legacies just give what they offer and they don't throw in free lounge access.

2.a pattern
Pattern is programmed into computer.
It could be only one double dip allowed in a given year(plat or diamond)
I was a platinum for last several years and when I hit plat this year I got to choose forward 2011 plat..then in october i hit diamond and i selected 2010 diamond and forward 2011 diamond(diamond double dip)

My co-worker was no status until this year hitting silver then gold then platinum in July and got to choose 2010 platinum choice awards and forward 2011 platinum(platinum double dip),,,now he just hit diamond overnight and the system updated diamond overnight 12/15..he only has 2011 forward diamond choice award.....
Is this the pattern ....?

I made PM from GM last Saturday (12/11) and was not allowed a "double dip" as you put it.

I think there was a cut off date that is not advertised or made known.

wow same here, this sucks. Just went on a MR to make platinum, partly since i figured it would get me 2 $200 credit's that would basically make the MR free. Now i only get 1.

edit- qualified 12/12, account showed platinum 12/14
