Dinner for breakfast

I just flew on DL 4 in BE. The flight leaves at 9:40 am from LHR to JFK. They were serving the same menu as dinner (actually, they still handed out the October menus, but served the November choices). Anyone know why the meals don't vary based on the time of day?

That's odd. When I've been in BE, I thought the menu had been different for breakfast - filet and potatoes/eggs, I think - although I guess the last time I left Europe at breakfast time in BE would have been almost year ago when I was on a 9am flight out of LGW.

I was in Y last week LGW-ATL (915 departure) and it was french toast or eggs....I would have taken BE lunch anytime over that. :D I usually prefer the lunch/dinner options over the breakfast ones. ;)

I looked at the BE info on dl.com and it did not say anything about breakfast.

The meal last week on LHR-DTW at 9:30am was breakfast (stuffed french toast, etc.). I was surprised that it wasn't "dinner," to be honest.

I would much rather have dinner (or lunch) than breakfast. It's what we're paying for in BE. Also, on international flights, not all passengers are on the same time zone due to jetlag. If in doubt, I wish DL would not make it breakfast.

Handing out October menues is strange; lunch/dinner is normal I'd say.

When I took this flight a few weeks ago, the Y options were eggs or cajun chicken with rice. I was happy for the choice and gladly accepted the chicken. Was quite good for a Y meal.

The meal for westbound flights that leave before 10AM is supposed to be "brunch." There's usually a sweet option like french toast, a cereal/fruit option, an egg option (often with steak) and a savory option that's more like lunch or dinner.

It starts with breakfast breads (instead of rolls) and usually an appetizer of smoked fish or something like that.

If that's not what you were served, I'd venture to guess it was a catering error.

I was served dinner in BE on DL 5, LHR-DTW earlier this year, and then lunch before landing in DTW. Seemed sort of odd to be serving dinner at 9:45 AM London time/ 4:45 AM Detroit time, but that's what we got.

I would rather always have at least one brunch option on flights that depart before 11am. I don't want to eat a heavy "lunch/dinner" at 10:30-10:45am, especially if I have a very long westbound day ahead of me.
