Going on my first-ever "segment run" to make GM.

PHL-DTW-RDU-ATL-SAN-ATL-STL-DTW-PHL

Leave 7:30 Thursday a.m., arrive back in PHL on Friday afternoon.

Can't wait.

8 plane rides, two new airports (new to me), Thanksgiving turkey 5 cities (I figure I can at least find a turkey-sammich)... wheeee!!!!!

As it turns out... after I booked this, I scheduled so many trips in December that the segment run is unnecessary for me to make GM this year... but I'm going anyway.

My 60th segment will be the ATL-SAN flight on Thanksgiving evening.

(It is funny, some people I know think this is an absolutely absurd way to spend Thanksgiving, and others think it's way cool. All that really matters is that I am going to have a big adventure and get to ride on airplanes.)

ATL - IND on Monday, then returning IND - ATL - RDU on the 29th. "Working from home" the week of the holiday, so I shall be doing a lot of moving from the couch to the fridge, and maybe to the gym if I feel inclined. This is my longest stretch of time not on site all year, so I shall be enjoying it immensely. Excited to check out the new SkyClub in IND as well.

Hong Kong! Great international flight prices over Thanksgiving, and I'm seeing my family at Christmas anyway - perfect time for a mileage run to see a new city instead ^

Downside of traveling over Thanksgiving is that the flights are sadly very empty. Looks like this isn't going to be my lucky trip for an op-up

I'm leaving on Turkey Day for a short trip down to SJO, Costa Rica. Other than the possibility of a crowd at MCO on the outbound, I don't think it will be too bad in PTY for my connection.

I'm heading to a funeral - while looking at this thread, I received a phone call from my better half, who told me that her wonderful Aunt had just passed away during a routine medical procedure.

Sieze the day everyone.

Every year, I intentionally avoid air travel on the Wed before TDay.

This year, I wish I WAS traveling so I could participate in National Opt Out Day

VIE-LHR-NAS-MYGD tomorrow so missing the rush. Seeing my college son, fishing and diving too. MYGD-NAS-MIA-DFW-DEN-GJT after the holidays. Oh and that renews BA Gold ;-)

Safe travels everyone!

Going to San Francisco. I was originally going to stay in NYC... but two days ago I found:

24 Nov: JFK-SFO (departs 7:15pm)
27 Nov: SFO-MSP-EWR (departs 6:00am)

...for $255a/i! I've previously scored some great holiday deals by holding out till the week before... and this was no exception.

Anyone else had last minute successes?

...and I hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving!

I bought a fully-refundable ticket just to participate. That's the only travelling I'm doing.
